1972 BMW 2002Tii in amazing shape - LOWER RESERVE
Options: CD player Safety Features: Power Options: Absolutely stunning 1972 golf-yellow BMW 2002Tii - I am heartbroken to sell it, but it's time for someone else to enjoy this amazing car. History I am the third owner and purchased the car in 2002 from Gerry Orr of Orr Autosport (http://www.orrautosport.com/), who had it for over 15 years. Prior to that, it was Portland, OR car. I wish I could take credit for how this car looks, but I have really done nothing but maintain it the 7 years I've had it. Gerry put all the work in the car by re-painting (in 1999) it its original color (golf-yellow - extremely coveted) and completely rebuilding the engine, exhaust, suspension, etc with original BWM parts. All of this work was done in 2001. I moved the car in Austin, TX in 2003 where it has been lovingly maintained by Terry Sayther Automotive (http://www.terrysaytherauto.com/) and European Imports (http://www.europeanimport.com/). The only thing I added to the car was a new Sony stereo (with ipod hook-up) with Alpine speakers (fitted in original speaker holes). Since owning the car, I have put 8402 miles on the odometer and have had no problems ever with the car. It starts up every time, runs like a dream. It had a major tune-up in September, replacing spark plugs, fuel filter, valve cover gasket, clean cap and replace rotor, tightened belts and set the timing. This car is all original - seats, steering wheel, wheel covers, etc. You will not find many 1972 Tii's in this shape. It can be an amazing every day driver if you so desire, or with a minimal amount of money and effort, a true show car. I hope you choose the latter. What needs work Since it is a 37 year old car, there are a few things that need attention or you should know. Paint bubble (see pictures) on the lower hand drivers side doorPaint bubbles on front spoiler One paint bubble close to the 2002Tii rear emblemSlight crack in the steering wheel (cosmetic)small crack on front dash by the clock Clock does not workTires will need replacing soon (13in). If you want to keep the original wheels, 13 inch tires are only around $60/each, though they do need to be special ordered. Bridgestone makes a good set. While there is no rust in the shock towers or any other notorious BMW places, you will need to be vigilant in protecting and watching for signs. There is currently a seat cover on the drivers seat as it needs a rip repaired. I will be doing this work next week and the seat will look as good as the passenger seatShipping and Payment Buyer is responsible for all shipping costsRequire a $1000 paypal holding fee and a cashiers check to complete the sale and transfer the titleThis is an amazing car. Please take good care of it. More... |
